Jim’s Acoustic Cafe announces March 24th gig date for two new original Pendle bands.


Well respected venue and restaurant Jim’s Acoustic Cafe in Colne has announced a Thursday March 24th gig date for two new original Pendle bands, Draks Drum and Riverman. Jim’s Cafe, with its unique and personal atmosphere is popularly known as the ‘heart’ of the Colne music scene and over the years has presented international name artists as well as supporting the musical talent in and around the Pendle area.


Headliners, Draks Drum, are an indie folk-punk 7-piece with influences such as Jethro Tull, Captain Beefheart and Blur featuring songwriter Jon Hollins on vox/guitar and Alex Cowland on accordion with other band members on violin, guitars and percussion. Riverman, fronted by guitarist Chris Manley, play an eclectic mix of acoustic-roots with a touch of jazz/latin and have been influenced by artists such as John Martyn, Gil Scott Heron and James Taylor. Mike Craine on percussion and Steve Hemsworth on bass complete the line-up.


Doors open from 8.00pm Thursday March 24th ‘til late and a limited number of places are available for £2.50 on a first come first served basis. Guests can look forward to the usual quality cask ales, bottles, wines and snacks and a full evening of homegrown original music in the convivial and intimate setting of Jim’s Acoustic Cafe.
