Come watch the ships, sunsets and sea lions at the more than 130-year-old Hanthorn Cannery, located at the foot of 39th Street in Astoria, on the Columbia River. Among the names the Hanthorn Cannery existed under are: Hanthorn Cold Storage, Bumble Bee Cold Storage, Astoria Seafood and Astoria Cold Storage.
Boasting 84,800 square feet, the formerly active cannery is Astoria’s
largest and oldest waterfront building, and now features the Fisherman’s Suites and the Captain Suite. Executive office rentals and artists lofts are also available.
Eat pizza and drink beer at the Rogue Ale Public House on Pier 39, or sit and relax with an award-winning latte at Coffee Girl. A dive compressor at the SCUBA shop is also available for those adven- turous explorers. Visitors can even take or ship home some of Oregon’s famous Dungeness crab from the live crab tank.
