Reduc- ing the size of a dispensing pump is a great challenge.”
Based on the company’s patented technology, Pumpart launched Mini- Tubairless, a 10 ml squeezable tube that ensures no air intake, and without a pump dispenses more than 95% of the product without any effort. The customer can press once on the tube and dispense either the total volume of the product or decide to use several doses. It can be customized in terms of material for optimized protection of the formulation so that the brand’s R&D departments do not need to change formulation or viscosity for the MiniTubairless.
Choosing the right material is also an issue for Valmatic. The company uses a barrier material such as PET/ EVOH/LDPE or PP/PET/EVOH/PE.

Shampoo and hair conditioner sam- ples have to be easy to use and to open. The company’s Thermoformed Uni-Doses have a pre-cut easy-to-open top. The Thermoforming Technology helps to create an exact miniature of the full-size product. For Roverhair the company produced a sampling box with the main box containing cards with shampoo and conditioner. Among the interesting trends in sample packaging, in the view of Is- abelle Lallemant, Vice President Busi- ness Development at Aptar Gift + Pro- motion, is the fact that promotional campaigns are being more effectively presented to appeal directly to the consumer. In contrast to a single campaign, promotions must be ap- proached at different communication levels, including street marketing. In- novative approaches are called for where nevertheless the “cost per con- tact” must not be ignored. Examples of the creative marketing of samples is the Clip Card, whilst the Travel Box, which belongs to a different life-style, shows that nowadays samples have become a common item for daily use. HCP has signed an exclusive agree-
ment with Swabplus to globally market their range of hygienic samplers. Sa- chets have been the traditional format for sampling, as giveaways, but can be messy to tear open. The snap-stick technology overcomes this problem and allows for a more hygienic preci- sion method of application. The all in one uni-dose applicator system is a liquid delivery system for cotton buds, which carries the product in its handle. The consumer snaps the applicator tip, releasing the product in the stem so that it flows to the cotton bud, deliver- ing a clean and precise dose of prod- uct. The dispenser technology, particu-
