Celebrate BC Parks’ 100th Birthday - Canada’s Parks Day July 16, 2011
This is one of the most exciting years ever for BC Parks; we will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the very fi rst provincial park in B.C.! Canada’s Parks Day is a perfect time to come and join in the festivities!!
Canada’s annual Parks Day celebration is held on the third Saturday of July each year. The day features a variety of healthy and fun activities in parks across the province, and showcases the natural beauty and impor- tance of parks to all of society.
In B.C. you can expect youth contests, guided hikes, nature interpretation, Jerry’s Rangers programming, Learn-to-Fish lessons and scavenger hunts. Also be sure to look for special BC Parks 100 celebrations all across the province: events like Arts in the Parks, BC Parks Passport and 100 Years of Adventure.

We had another fantastic year of submis- sions to the Kid’s Art Contest and iParks Youth Webcast Competition. BC Parks thanks all the participants for their hard work and dedication and is thrilled to see that every- one involved is as excited about BC Parks 100th birthday as we are!
