79 ha. • Facilities: 119 campsites, boat launch, sani-station, pit and flush toilets, and hot showers. • Location: 14 km west of Salmon Arm on Highway 1. • Some facilities and hiking trails are wheelchair accessible. Parking fees are applicable in the day-use area.

Niskonlith Lake


238 ha. • Facilities: 29 campsites with pit toilets and a boat launch (10 hp motor restriction). • Location: Up 8 km of gravel road, northwest from Highway 1 at Chase (east of Kamloops). • Activities include cycling, swimming and fishing


19 Roderick Haig-Brown


1,076 ha. • Facilities: Day-use area with wheel- chair access and pit toilets. • Location: On both sides of the Adams River, between Adams Lake and Shuswap Lake. From Highway 1 at Squilax, east of Kamloops, 5 km on a paved road. • Features: Fascinating place to visit, especially in early October during the annual Adams River sockeye salmon spawning run. Activities include hiking, cycling, fishing, and cross-country skiing.


20 Shuswap Lake


149 ha. • Facilities: 272 campsites, a boat launch, sani-station, fire pits, flush toilets, and hot showers. • Location: 19 km off Highway 1 at Squilax exit, on the north shore of the main arm of Shuswap Lake. • Features: A very popular family destination that offers activities such as hiking, cycling, swimming, water sports, and fish- ing. Nature House and Interpretation Programs offered in July and August. Some facilities are wheelchair accessible. Parking fees are applica- ble in the day-use area.


21 Shuswap Lake Marine


896 ha. • Facilities: Marine access campsites in 26 areas around the perimeter of Shuswap Lake. Includes picnic areas, pit toilets. • Location: Water access only with launch facilities located around Shuswap Lake. 3 of the areas have vehicle access as well. • Shuswap Lake is one of the most used lakes in British Columbia, espe- cially for houseboats during the summer season. Passes must be purchased at either a marina outlet or a Chamber office.


22 Silver Beach 130 ha. • Facilities: 35 campsites, sandy beach,


river estuary. • Location: North end of Seymour Arm of Shuswap Lake. By road, leave Highway 1 at Squilax. Drive approximately 83 km, the last 42 km on gravel. • Activities include swimming, boating, fishing, or just soaking up the sun.


23 White Lake


266 ha. • Facilities: Boat launch (suitable for small car-top type boats only) and pit toilets. • Location: 10 km northeast of Highway 1 from Balmoral (west of Salmon Arm); the last 2 km on a logging road. • Activities include self- contained camping, swimming and excellent fishing opportunities.
