OKANAGAN REGION 3
O
OKANAGAN kanagan
Provincial
Parks are
a
camper’s dream with an endless amount of outdoor and recreational activities mixed with one of the sunniest and warmest cli- mates in Canada. Stretching from the US Border at Osoyoos, north to Vernon, west to the borders of Manning Park, and east to Boundary Country, the Okanagan offers numerous Provincial Parks situated on the region’s most picturesque lakes and rivers. Make sure to bring all of your water toys and lots of sunscreen as you discover all the Okanagan has to offer.
The Okanagan’s Provincial Parks act as excellent base camps from which to explore: you can set up camp at larger parks like Okanagan Lake, EC Manning, Ellison or Mabel Lake, or you can find a hidden spot at Bromley Rock, Boundary Creek, Conkle Lake or Johnstone Creek. At Okanagan Mountain, you can paddle right up to your camp- site with its marine-accessible campsites. The diversity of camping and wilderness opportuni- ties in the Okanagan region is virtually endless.
For those looking for a place to swim, take a boat ride, and relax for a few days… the Okanagan has everything you need. With several parks lining the edges of Okanagan Lake, plus parks on Christina, Allison, Kalamalka and Otter Lakes, you’re sure to find a spot that you’ll fall in love with. There are numerous activities for the entire family including horseback riding, golfing, cycling, visiting wineries, fine dining, touring on land and water, rock climbing, wildlife and bird watching, and so much more. The adventures you can have outside of the parks are half the fun when visiting the region.

Making the Outdoors
Throughout the Okanagan valley, take the time to explore the region’s rich history. Places like Historic Fintry near Vernon echo with the area’s mining heritage, while places like Cathedral and Gladstone beckon you into the vast wilderness that have made BC’s parks famous worldwide. Take a ride on the historic Kettle Valley Steam Railway located in Summerland. Whether you’re in the Okanagan for a few days or a couple of weeks, the scenery alone will ensure it won’t be your last visit to the Okanagan’s Provincial Parks.
