THE WHOLE EMPHASIS IS INFORMAL SURROUNDING AND GOOD, HEARTY RUSTIC FOOD SERVED WITH A NO HASSLE SMILE
braised potatoes, £26.50, and the briskly sautéed seafood with fresh crab, mussels, squid, almond clams, scallops, crevettesin olive oil with garlic and a little chili, fries and aioli, £22.70, are the two I will favour on my next visits but there are others on the menu worth checking out. The wine, chosen from a more than ample list, was the
Maurel Verdeau Merlot. If it hadn’t been midweek, the comforting warmth of the restaurant might have enticed us to stay for another bottle, this time possibly the Santa Ema Cabernet Sauvignon, but we sensibly resisted and made do with a sweet to share. After first taste of the butter shortbread, walnut ice cream, hot sticky toffee sauce and raspberries, £5.50, we quickly regretted only ordering one but with such a great little restaurant on our doorstep, it’s just another reason to return.

The Daughters of Charity, a religious congregation, has been working in Ethiopia since 1927. Their focus is to provide basic health service to the needy people like orphans and vulnerable children. At present, the
congregation is running four clinics in Ethiopia's Tigray region.
Virginie (the owner of “La P’tite folie” and “Le Di Vin” wine bar) agreed to sponsor one of their projects, a feeding programme and is visiting Ethiopia at the end of this month. It costs £60 a day for one child to receive a decent meal every day. A total of 800 Orphans will benefit from it.
