Eyes in ™ | Holland - Rotterdam
The Al Manakh Gulf shows this time again an overview of the cities in The Gulf and how a quick changing economic landscape influences the methods of doing business and its relations with the rest of the world. Plagued by a smaller economic growth, but with knowledge and financial powers, these cities reach out to borders outside of their own countries for urbanization projects.
S, M, L, XL is an extraordinary 1300 page book containing essays, manifestos, diaries, travel logs and a series of mediation in the contemporary city, with work produced by Rem Koolhaas in the last 20 years.

The Rotterdam Largest new construction Project in the Netherlands
The Rotterdam is situated near the previous departure point of the Holland – America line,
from where tens of thousands of
Europeans emigrated to the United States of America. This project will be an integral part of the regeneration of the Kop van Zuid, a commercial and residential area in Rotterdam. Because of the intensive cooperation between MAB Development
and OVG Project development with the city of Rotterdam they managed to complete this key project. The project requires an investment of 340 million euro. Daily 3.000 to 4.000 people will live, work, shop and spend recreational time in this new vertical city, with an area of 160.000 m2.
The special mix of functions make the building a vertical city in which life goes on 24 hours a day. It will include a four star hotel (NL Hotel), apartments, offices, a health club, a variety of shops, cafés and restaurants. All sections of the development make smart use of sustainable energy supply, among others,
through water
from the Maas and energy exchange from the ground. With spectacular views to the skyline of Rotterdam and the Maas, The Rotterdam will become an important
meeting place on the pier.
