Sport
Football, Netball, Hockey, Gymnastics, Basketball, Rugby Union, Dance, Country Dance, Cross Country, Table Tennis, High Fives, Cricket, Athletics, Rounders, Tennis, Short Tennis, Pop Lacrosse...
...the list is endless; and with ten acres of playing fields, an all-weather area and a well equipped sports hall, there is always time and space for sport, whatever the weather.
We will encourage your child to develop into a mentally and physically fit individual, and will make sure we find his or her niche in the sporting arena.
Some children will have more aptitude than others, but all will have a chance to compete either in the inter-house events or inter-school fixtures. Whilst some of our children will compete at a national level, no one has a ‘win at all costs’ mentality. The ‘courtesy and common sense’ of the school rule apply equally to the sporting arena, being a good sportsman, or sportswoman, is paramount.
Sports fixtures against other schools are organised in Years 4, 5 and 6.
Drama
Drama is a great way of building confidence. It forms part of the English curriculum at Hallfield as well as being a much loved extra- curricular activity.
If your child wants to take part in productions during his or her time with us there will be plenty of opportunities. The annual major school play, performed to pupils, parents and friends of the school, usually involves 50 to 60 of the older children in one or more of the following capacities:
• Acting • Lighting • Sound • Scenery
