And now from our International Trustee and District Administrator!

International Trustee Michael Silveira

Howdy! My name is Mike Silveira and I am your International Trustee. As you might be able to guess by my title, I go to school in a very far off and exotic location (San Diego State University). I just started my first semester as a Graduate student in the Biology department and I will be focusing my attention on plant systematics. Ask anyone who is a graduate student about

their

activities besides their research and you'll find out they are pretty rare. I'm excited to say I do three things: Plant research, Circle K, and sleep (sometimes).

My main goals for the rest of my year is to make sure that everyone in Capital has all the information they want and to make sure everyone is informed about proposals at International Convention in Portland (YOU better go). Let me know if you have questions, I want to give you unbiased information straight from the source. One random fact about me is that I have six toes on one foot but four toes on the other foot to compensate. The other random fact is that I was lying about the first fact. Have a great year everyone and enjoy each moment!

District Administrator Jeffery Wolff

My name is Jeffrey Wolff and I am your District Administrator. My role is that of moderator and advisor to your District Board. I’m currently Vice- President of the Kiwanis Club of Tysons Corner in Northern Virginia and Kiwanis Advisor to George Mason University CKI. I actually first joined the Kiwanis-Family in New York District Key Club before joining CKI in college. Outside of the Kiwanis-Family, I work as Technical Director for North

American operations of Reston-based Corpora Software. My company develops applied linguistics-based knowledge discovery and knowledge sharing tools. I travel a great deal for work but love to travel personally as well. When I do have free time I enjoy movies, reading legal thrillers, playing tennis, biking and watching Lost. I’m a big baseball fan as well and being originally from Long Island, NY have been a life-long Yankees fan.

Thanks for reading the first Capital Courier EXTRA! The next EXTRA will include introductions from your Capital District Committee Chairs! Be on the look out for the first installment of the Capital Courier in June. Have a great remainder of the semester!
