“Thumbs down to people asking why selectman Nadeau is quiet. Look back and you will see who cleared the buildings at the Benson ‘originally’ with volunteers!! He has been constantly criticized and belittled by selectmen with seniority. Even called names in public. I remember and I thank him!”
“Thumbs down to Lars Christiansen. What kind of man asks for a pardon for another man who molested a young girl 69 times? One wonders what his background is . He should be removed as our representative to the state A.S.A.P. If our other reps can’t do that someone younger than I should start a petition for his removal. Selectmen can tell you how to do that and make it legal. Is our representative sick in the head? Pardon a man with that background? He’ll do it again for sure. Will it be your child? Act people – act against now!”
“Thumbs down. School Board buying new
white boards? … that have to be renewed every 2 years as seen on Hudson TV meeting. Spending our tax dollars and more increase to follow on the next bill. Where oh where does the school board hide these dollars on us? These people a out of touch with the families in Hudson, Watch who is voted for in March, family on the school payroll?”
“Thumbs up School Board members, way
to party, keep the spending going everything is great?”
“Thumbs down. Private gossip in school should not be overheard by students about other students. Stop it.”
“Thumbs down, way down to nosy neighbors.
Have you ever heard of pain medicine? It works wonders and you should have maybe offered some assistance instead of sitting on your...”
“Thumbs down to the local contractor. It’s bad
enough watching you act like a fool in every local bar in the area. What is really disturbing is when you leave the bar after drinking for hours & drive home with your kids in the truck. I pray for your Children.”
“Thumbs up to Republican House Speaker O’Brien for his campaign promise that this session would be all about jobs, jobs, jobs. ‘Thumbs down’ to the first job he created, a $75,000-a-year ‘policy advisor’ paid for by the tax payers.”

“Thumbs up to the Litchfield Recreational Basketball Yellow and Green Team, Great Game and Great Sportsmanship! Well done coaches!”
“Thumbs down to the big dump trucks dumping tons of snow behind the RT 102 Plaza! You were out there again the other night way past midnight. People cannot sleep with all that noise from the big trucks. This is not the first night you have disturbed my sleep. Why are you only doing it at night? Is this legal dumping? What is going to happen in the spring when all that snow melts? Do the people living on Webster Street know that there is a mountain of snow behind their houses ready to run downhill and flood their homes?”
“Thumbs down to the people who feel that
anyone who has handicap placards are abusing them. I have Multiple Sclerosis. I may look fine when I start my day’s journey, but by the time I have completed it I may be so tired I can barely make it to my car. When there’s a spot closer that is not handicap I try to use it first. Do your research prior to posting on a public forum.”
“Thumbs up to Nicole! We are so proud
of you… You are amazing!! Congrats on overachieving your goal with your project for ‘Teens for Jeans.’ Love you, Lauren, Brandon, Ryan, Cody, Midnight, Darrin and Ma-Ma!! XOXO”

play Russian Roulette with the traffic and speed out of your driveway. And to top it all off, some guy steps into the road to tell me to slow down? Sweetheart, you’re lucky I WASN’T speeding or even going the speed-limit for that matter, or else my breaks would not have stopped me in time and that car would have looked like a ping pong ball against the snow banks. I don’t take turns at 30 miles per hour on winter nights, I’ve apparently got more common sense in my pinky than you do in both of the hands you used to wave in my headlights. They didn’t really mean it when they told you to go play in traffic.”
“Thumbs down and up. Being gentle and meek does not make you a Christian (though they are fruit of the Spirit). Believing that Jesus Christ died for your sins and mine (the Gospel 1Corinth 15:1-4) and in the God of the Bible makes you a Christian. Sodomy, adultery, pedophilia, and all sexual activity outside of the sanctified marriage relationship between one man and one woman is sin. It is not just the Ellen show but most of what is on TV often glorifies sin. I suggest, for Christians, finding restaurants without TV/ entertainment where family and friends can enjoy undistracted quality time with each other.”

“Thumbs up and Happy Valentine’s day to my secret friend and his drunk alter ego, DR, that I like just a little more. Since I can’t give you a real Valentine, this will have to do. And ‘thumbs up’ to me for finally getting around to sending you a ‘thumbs up!’”
“Thumbs down to criticism. A newspaper should be a place where people can express their thoughts freely, without being criticized. People seem very concerned about views that don’t correspond with their own. I think it’s good
Thumbs Up? Thumbs Down? “We want to be your Mechanic”
“Thumbs up to my girlfriend for being physically over the age of 5 to get a library card. Fortunately, the Hudson library does not consider the mental age. Yay!”
“Thumbs down! to the
garage on Lowell Road who conveniently failed three inspections in a row for women but passed the man driver.
It’s
not nice to take advantage of women...we talk...word of mouth is better than any advertisement.”
“Thumbs down to people
who make over $60k a year and then charge over $50k on credit cards and file for bankruptcy. Must be awesome living life to the fullest on everyone else’s dime.”
“Thumbs down to a Hudson
school board candidate. Do you want your child’s favorite teacher fired? Then vote Amy Sousa! Don’t let someone in office that gets 2 special needs teachers & a nurse fired (‘let go’). Teachers alone are a gift from god, but ones that deal with Autistic children (& all special needs children) 5 days a week through the school year & then do the summer program are Saints & irreplaceable . Please do not vote Amy Sousa for Hudson school board on March 08, 2011! ‘Thumbs down’ to her for even attempting to run!”

to remember that not everyone has the same opinions, and that’s okay. If you disagree with a ‘thumbs’ comment, you should feel free to state your opinion, but you should try to be polite about it. Thank you.”
“Thumbs down to all the Christian bashing in last week’s ‘thumbs.’ Considering all the references to God, you may want to get out your Bible and check out what God thinks about the topic of homosexuality. If you believe in God, then you must believe His Word. Some scriptures referring to the subject are: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Leviticus 18:22, 1 Timothy 1: 8-11. Christians don’t make the rules, God does. And just to be clear, Christians don’t hate sinners! We just hate sin.”
“Thumbs down to the person who has been making negative comments about coaches and players in Litchfield baseball, wake up, 13-year- olds read the paper too. These boys are all good players and good kids, and as for the coaches, this is a league run by volunteers so if there is no 12-yr-old team maybe that’s because you didn’t step up and volunteer your time. We have a 13- year-old team because of those two men you keep putting down, so if you can’t step up you should shut up...”
“Thumbs down to ignorant comments about Christianity. You call others intolerant? Let me guess, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but NOT if they disagree with the one you happen to
hold...then it’s intolerance. Take a long look in the mirror.”

town resident’s properties until 5 years. What is the town doing for its residents in need? Vote NO March 8th on the Proposed 2012 School Budget tax increase!! TAKE BACK YOUR TOWN!”
“Thumbs down to Hudson Selectmen Coutu for managing the town as a corporation by deeming pay raises and deciding who deserves them above and beyond working class families ability to PAY! All while the Selectmen, Fire Dept., Police Dept., Library Dept., and School Dept. view the taxpayers as an UNLIMITED supply of MONEY with a pay-me-now or pay-me- later budget mentality. STOP the gross mismanagement of our hard earned tax dollars and take back our town by removing all sitting officials this March 8th 2011!!!”
“Thumbs down to Hudson selectmen Jasper for asking the citizens of Hudson for a pay raise contract for the police dept., fire dept., town supervisors association, library staff and school dept. When the economy, unemployment and jobs are in the worst state since the great depression. And then justifying the increase because there haven’t been any pay increases since 2008? Neither has the rest of society especially people living on a fixed income! Our Hudson selectmen are out of touch with reality and are no longer representing the voters. Warrant articles 7,8,9,10 and 11 are not giving the needed tax relief for its
citizens. Increasing salaries for town employees while increasing taxes long term is not the relief we need! Why not layoff town employees and go back to volunteer status like the past (remember burns hill fire dept, anyone)? Do more with less!! Vote no on articles 7,8,9,10 and 11 this march 8th 2011!!!”
“Thumbs down to all of the raises on the Hudson ballot, selectmen talk about someone going without a raise for 2 or 3 years like it’s a bad thing, when some Hudson residents haven’t had a job for that long and can’t pay their taxes! When the raises get voted down, I’ll take the job off anyone who leaves at the current rate of pay! Doubt we’ll see a stamped of leaving employees!”
“Thumbs up to the LMS Spirit Team and
Coach Roni for placing 2nd at the Tri-County Cheerleading Competition! And ‘thumbs up’ to the CHS cheerleaders for coming to cheer the girls on. It was nice to see such wonderful showing of support.”
“Thumbs down to anyone who advocates
paying down or paying off a mortgage. In these times of municipal economic stress tax assessors will evaluate the amount of mortgage on a property and adjust the property value accordingly, at which point it is up to the property owner to waste their time and energy proving otherwise. If you have a low or no mortgage your property value is guaranteed to be higher and you’ll be paying more, after all, you don’t have a mortgage so the bad logic is that you have extra cash for the town.”

“Thumbs up and a big thank you to all the men
and women who keep the Litchfield baseball program running, your hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed.”
“Thumbs down! to the Town of Hudson for trying to propose another school budget pay increase in 2012!! Shame on the town of Hudson, for trying to increase our property taxes again in 2012. Why should Hudson’s residents have to choose between food and property taxes? Why should residents on fixed incomes, residents experiencing a loss of income and struggling families have to suffer. There are more than double the amount of foreclosed homes in Hudson as compared to last year and that doesn’t include the homes that are being sold as a short sale’s. Home values were assessed at their peak in 2006 and Patriot properties refuses to reassess
