“Thumbs down to Hudson’s special ed director’s daughter, AS, running for school board. Are trying to get yet more services or give your mom a raise?”

“Thumbs down to the plow drivers in Hudson.

I was all set to praise your work till I noticed my neighbor’s mailbox is totally gone. Do you really need to destroy a mailbox? My neighbor is unable to get her mail every day, so there’s probably several letters in it. I’ve also noticed other mailboxes trashed around town. I know there’s a lot of snow, but come on, your destroying private property!”

“Thumbs down - to thinking LMS Baseball stands a chance this year or next. The current 11 year olds will resurrect the program in a couple of years but unfortunately you know none of our 6th graders will make the school team because it is predisposed who makes it. The 11 year old All-Stars would beat the 13 year old AAU team 8 times out of ten but the eighth Graders on that team will make the School team you can be sure. Maybe El-Presidente & his Treasurer will coach that team also & give us some real laughs.”

“Thumbs down to the HLN editor for the lame apology to the Litchfield fire chief. How do you know that he only charged for 15 hours and not 40? Because he said so? You might as well stop printing this page because now you will have to apologize to everyone for someone else’s actions. The fire chief is a big boy, if he can’t stand the heat he should get off the big red truck.”

“Thumbs down to the ‘thumbs down’ to Mr.

Falzarano regarding the LMS Spirit Team. He has worked hard at his job and is succeeding please do not publish things when you do not know what is going on. Please talk to him privately and not publish, until you know the whole story! That is why it tells you to seek out the school or official to resolve the problem!”

“Thumbs up! “Thank you John, Mickey and

Peter for helping me take care of the walkways and back deck on Wednesday. Michael is out for days shoveling and plowing everyone else and doesn’t usually come home until 9 or later and would have to take all that on. What amazing neighbors I have!”

“Thumbs down to Randy Bell. Is the procedure

‘delay’ not in your superintendent handbook? You really need to work with DPW on getting these sidewalks done before school starts in the morning. Interesting how at 7am on 2/3/11 the sidewalk into SAU was plowed but not a single sidewalk where our children are walking. I get that you think you can’t please any or all, I get that the goal is to get the kids out before summer heat sets in, but what about the SAFETY of our children. Please think of our children first!!!”

Thumbs Up? Thumbs Down? “We want to be your Mechanic”

wash. I went to the wash bay and it was closed. I asked the manager for a refund. She refused to refund for the car wash (that was not operating). I reported this to the Corporate Office in Portsmouth NH and then to my charge card company. The card company issued a $9 credit with one phone call. I wash the car now in Nashua at Shell on Main Street for $3.99. Have a good day!”

“Thumbs up to the Litchfield

Teachers for all their dedicated hard work with our kids. You’re the greatest!”

“Thumbs up to Nugget for

playing your final three HMS basketball games with a severely broken finger. You never complained or offered excuses, just continued to play hard. You are one very tough kid! Enjoy some time off while in the new cast.”

“Thumbs down...to the self- righteous ‘Christian’ who had the nerve to bash a local business for playing Ellen on their television. I am sure said business would be happy enough if you were never to visit there again, and your outdated and small minded views are better suited to staying at home anyway. I try to live and let live, but your brand of Christianity is completely unacceptable in today’s world. You make me sick.”

“Thumbs up, WAY up to the

Litchfield plow guys. The best job ever clearing the cul-de-sac on Courtland Avenue. Much appreciation for saving us from extra backache during such a terrible winter. Thank You!!!”

“Thumbs down to the homophobic person’s comment from last week. I’m so sorry that you were taught to hate. The God I believe in loves all his children equally and therefore there is no room for hate. If being homosexual is a sin then love is a sin, and I am a sinner. If you want to make something so trivial as gender a factor in wrong and right, then so be it. But remember that while you are God’s child you are not God and you have no place to condemn others. I pray you find love where hate has filled you. I love those who are gay, my Godparents are gay, I have

accused of inciting, perpetuating and promoting hatred, misunderstandings and intolerance. Grow some standards, will you? I will be requesting a cessation of your ‘paper’ from soiling my doorstep. Good riddance.”

“Thumbs down to ‘organized religion.’ It

amazes me that you people are still being taken for a ride by the world’s greatest con. Hundreds of years ago some genius thought up the best ‘get rich quick scheme’ in history and that ball has been rolling ever since. Organized religion has been separating you from your hard earned money for all these years and they are able to do so because they control you with fear. Generations of parents have been setting up their children for failure just as their parents did before them which perpetuates the life of the con. ‘Thumbs down’ to organized religion!”

the two snow plow guys who helped me out on Lowell Road by the Brake and Go in Hudson on Wednesday evening. Signed The Lady Laying in the Snow.”

“Thumbs up to Carl on Watersedge Drive who has been cleaning off the drain covers every snow storm. Now if only this snow would start to melt and go down them!!!”

“Thumbs up to not having to put out orange cones this year and actually have someone who knows how to park!!!”

“Thumbs up to the commutation and freeing

of Ward Bird! Welcome home Ward! Though Governor Lynch blocked the 5 – 0 pardon for Ward Bird, he did correctly state that the punishment did not fit the crime. You have no idea how right you are Mr. Governor. The fact that Massachusetts resident Ms. Cynthia Harris was not prosecuted for trespassing on posted private property, harassing and threatening Ward Bird’s Wife and Children, and then took away the man’s freedom for 76 days without herself going to jail is a gross injustice. Perhaps the judges, Cook County Prosecutor, the Moultonborough Police, and the members of the New Hampshire Supreme Court should all join Ms. Harris in jail for the next 76 days.”

“Thumbs down to the gas station / car wash on Robinson Road Hudson. Irving charged me $9 for the ‘low end’ car

gay friends, they are amazing people. I was also a proud member of the Gay-Straight Alliance at Alvirne. Spread love, not hate. <3”

“Thumbs down to the comment made by a ‘Christian’ who couldn’t stand watching Ellen at a restaurant. I beg you to watch ‘Prayers for Bobby’- it was on Lifetime TV and you can You Tube it. I will not ‘thumbs down’ your ignorance because I know it is uneducated, so you too are innocent in the way you are living your life. Watch the program, perhaps you will understand your faith and the gay community in a more positive light.”

“Thumbs down to the person who thinks the Ellen Show shouldn’t be watched by Christians and a double ‘thumbs down’ to the owner of the restaurant that bans the show from their TV’s. You’re both an embarrassment to the town of Hudson.”

“Thumbs down to the HLN for continuing to publish bigoted comments. By printing ignorant commentary from a purported ‘Christian’ and others regarding homosexuality, you stand

negative comment about the Ellen show because she is gay. It is ‘Christians’ like yourself that give Christianity a bad name. People who encourage prejudice in ANY form do not belong calling themselves a Christian. It’s NOT your job to cast judgment on others. Leave that job to the real boss. God help us all if he had an attitude like you... merciless.”

“Thumbs up - The Town of Hudson has done a wonderful job keeping our roads plowed and cleared under extreme, difficult conditions. As a homeowner, I wish to thank the men, or women, that have worked long hours into the night and early in the morning to accomplish their jobs. You’re my heroes.”

“Thumbs down to Amy Sousa who is running for school board! Her best interest is NOT for all the children in Hudson, it’s for herself and her mother who is Head of Special Ed for Hudson. I hope people are not fooled by her letter to the editor in the HLN!!!”

“Thumbs down to the person

who has a problem with the TV show Ellen being viewed at a restaurant. Put yourself back under the ignorant rock that you came out from and stop being stupid. Your Christian values are for the weak and fearful. I use the term values loosely. I mean really, what kind of values are they when they’re full of hypocrisy!

‘Thumbs down’ to organized Religion!” “Thumbs down to the person in Highland

Woods who lets their cat out after dark every night. Don’t you know that this time of year there’s no place for that cat to go but on the road. I don’t want to see that beautiful animal turned into crow food, Not to mention we have fox and other animals of prey for which your cat would make a tasty winter meal. Use your head. Pet cats belong in the house especially in the winter.”

“Thumbs down. The Budget Committee, which has final say on budget proposals, removed the item before Deliberative Session and urged selectmen to offer it as a separate ballot question so that voters could see it in detail. But selectmen stuck to the same course at Deliberative Session, offering to place it within the operating budget because they said a similar proposal had failed several years ago. Guess the Selectman of Hudson do NOT want the voters to decide!!! SHAME on THEM!!!”

“Thumbs up to Brian and the entire PTO keep up the hard work it has not gone unnoticed!!”

“Thumbs up to Dr Cutler for being so pragmatic and so thoughtful in her communication.”

circle ? near the race track, I always stop at local businesses when possible, however during recent storms I noticed serious fuel price changes. During last weeks snowstorm the price for regular fuel went from 3.03 at 8 am to 3.19 by 2 pm and back to 3.05 the day after the storm! (and that is not the first time!) this station has just lost my future business. They service a lot of local residents and that is nothing more than a kick in the face....”

“Thumbs down to the Christian that does not like the Ellen Show because Ellen is gay.

I

think you should stay away from that restaurant because you are intolerant to a large portion of our population. Your attitude is what is unhealthy and immoral. The gay lifestyle is a choice for men and women not something that can be caught in a restaurant over pancakes and eggs. Grow up and try to think outside the box. Or, keep thinking like that and YOU GET IN THE BOX.”

“Thumbs down about the Library Card. Enough

already. The parents wanted a card for their toddler, the rules say no way, he did not get one, he cried, parents were upset. It is a shame that the parents and child got caught up in all this. Let it go, Is the toddler going to carry this around his neck through school. He will forget if you let him. Come spring you can buy children’s books at yard sales for pennies.”

ignorant person who is going to boycott a restaurant because they regularly play the Ellen Show. You are concerned about the message the show sends to our town’s young people?? You should be more concerned with the message people like YOU are sending, with your closed mindedness, hypocrisy and ignorance. As the mother of two of those young people, I would rather have them watching The Ellen Show, which promotes nothing but fun, and laughter, kindness and generosity, and celebrates people being good to one another, than them spend a minute with someone like yourself, who is judgmental, hateful and ignorant. If I were the owner of that restaurant you mentioned, I would be happy for you to take your business elsewhere!”

turn only. And as long as I am crabbing about left turn signs, shouldn’t Dunkin Donuts replace the NO left turn sign that has been missing for over a year. Drivers are using that exit to enter so they don’t have to stop at the light. They are now competing with the drive- thru customers trying to exit right. Also getting the finger for being in their way.
