Dear Editor, Reference your article re the proposed 425 new homes in the January issue of My Abbots News. I have lived in Abbots Langley for 50 years, at the moment I live in South Way. Every time developers make plans for more

houses in Abbots Langley I complain. This appears to be a big waste of time as they merrily carry on destroying our village. The Breakspear Pub springs to mind as a recent money grabbing scheme. Have you seen the "Rabbit" hutches they have crammed in there ? Also the monolith that is the new Hillside

Hall is just a massive eyesore. What planet do these people live on if they

think it will not cause problems. In fact they know it will cause problems but once they have made their money they go somewhere else to wreak more havoc. What is our council doing to stop this ?

Apparently SOD ALL. Even if the new houses have just one car each,

more likely to be two, that's an extra 425 cars trying to get to/from work. Add to this the cars at the new hotel. It is mentioned in My Abbots, Issue 58, that

Tanners Wood School is becoming a nightmare with all the cars at the moment. Lots more children and no new schools. Where

exactly are all these children going to go to school ? Someone should make one of these developers build a new secondary school as a condition of permission being granted. It does not matter how these developers justify

their reasons, more houses will NEVER improve anything for us in Abbots Langley. We do not stand a chance of stopping any of

these developments because there is to much money involved, we are just the peasants to be brushed aside and ignored. I am fed up with it. Nigel Haire

Dear Editor, I have just been readingMy Abbots News and came across the future plans for the Leavesden housing development. I think the plans look very good and just want to ask if it would be possible for you to keep me updated on the decision. Me and my partner are currently private

renting and are looking to start a mortgage in the next few years. We currently live on the Huntonbury village and are very happy with the area so this new development looks positive. Hollie Dunton
