Delmatic has supplied a sophisticated lighting management system to Eleven Brindleyplace, contributing to this 14 storey edifice becoming the first building in Birmingham’s Brindleyplace development to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating. As well as optimising lighting energy consumption, the system provides tenants with a high level of flexibility to customise the lighting to their needs – a key criterion for developers Argent.

Microwave detectors from CP Electronics have been installed at the headquarters of Damart based in an old mill in Bingley, West Yorkshire. Providing accurate and easy to adjust lighting control, the detectors are part of the new “Carbon Catcher” energy saving lighting scheme installed for Damart by Leeds based lighting and electrical contractors RCE Services UK Ltd. CP’s detectors control a T5 lighting scheme, offer presence detection and daylight dimming, signifcantly reducing day-to-day running costs.

Lighting at the new headquarters building for the City of Edinburgh council in New Street is being controlled by a Spectrum lighting control system from ALC Lighting Controls, ensuring that a comfortable lit environment is maintained with minimum energy consumption. The lighting is monitored and controlled through a central PC to facilitate maintenance and re-configuration of the lighting should the need arise. The system comprises both pluggable and hard wired lighting control modules (LCMs), as well as area controllers, all linked to a central PC.

Crescent has helped staff at The National Trust garden at Trelissick to design a lighting scheme for over five acres of the garden as well as the iconic Water Tower. Crescent supplied Tersus HID flood and Elencho HID spotlights from exterior lighting company Paviom, and made extensive use of its own LED spot and linear lighting products throughout the project. Many of the trees and shrubs around the Loop Walk were illuminated, some simply flooded with Paviom metal halide projectors and others with LED spotlights from Crescent.

Following the installation of T5 lighting from Riegens, The Retail Supply Group (RSG) is living proof that a simple change to fluorescent lighting can now offer a cost effective alternative to HID luminaires for high bay applications in warehouses. The refurbishment, financed by a Carbon Trust loan, has allowed the company to install the new lighting quickly and efficiently, providing immediate savings in energy and costs. Riegens HB-ECO 4 x 54W fluorescent fittings using 4000K colour temperature tubes allow significant savings to be achieved.
