INTRODUCTION

ONLINE

Our website continues to grow so look out for our imminent live recruitment section which will be an invaluable aid to recruiters and prospective employees.

Welcome again to Wind Energy Network. 2011 we are certain will bring even more opportunities in this still very new and exciting industry. I hear nothing but positive remarks from the movers and shakers during my travels throughout the UK and beyond.

As you will see as you turn the pages of this issue, we are concentrating on training and the hard work which is going on to ensure future progress. I do have one concern however, and that is that there is a lot of enthusiasm out there and not enough working together. This means that companies and individuals are working very hard to set standards and ensure quality training for the industry, but may be able to reach those goals more easily by getting together with other companies and individuals.

The expression ‘reinventing the wheel’ comes to mind.

It is not only in the training areas that this is being experienced, but in most areas within the industry, including health and safety which is of major concern.

For this reason your Editor’s article in this issue is entitled ‘reinventing the wheel’ where I cover the most obvious advice, but sometimes we just cannot see the wood for the trees! If it serves to get people communicating more, then our purpose is achieved.

Travelling conditions throughout late 2010 made it very difficult to include all our ‘Future Features’ for this issue, however we will endeavour to include these promised features in forthcoming editions. There is so much interest in the industry that we are never short of material so we still have a very interesting and packed edition for you.

Again we experience very positive feedback on what we are trying to achieve and we are building long term relationships with many of you. You will see we like to revisit companies and individuals to keep our readership informed of developments which are of interest.

You will also notice that we are developing sections within the magazine including: Law, Health and Safety, Training etc making it easier for our readers to focus on individual areas of interest.

We are also featuring a ‘one stop shop’ events section so that you do not need to trawl through lots of different websites to find out what’s going on!

We will continue to expand our travels so please do not hesitate to make yourself known to me at whatever event we attend and let us know about your experiences and opinions on our industry.

Please send in your contributions and we will consider them for publication... and remember we do not charge for genuine editorial.
