Don’t Just Get Fit; Get MAC Fit

food, fi tness, and themselves. MAC Fit is a 12-week program that helps participants get active, improve their health, and lose weight. Best of all, everyone leaves MAC Fit with the tools to help maintain their healthy behaviors and keep the weight from coming back.

Wednesday, Feb. 16 from 6-7 p.m. The program meets Wednesdays, March 9 through May 25, from 6-7 p.m. Led by Exercise Physiologist Glenn Johnson and Personal Trainer Molly Sparkman, MAC Fit combines the latest research on nutrition and exercise strat- egies with a focus on eliminating the behaviors that keep people from perma- nently changing their lives.


MAC Fit features a group meeting format that allows for meaningful social support and new perspectives. Each week, participants share their successes as well as their challenges and get the feedback and positive reinforcement that are crucial for lasting behavior change.

The MAC Fit entry fee includes personal training to help each member design an exercise plan that is right for him or her; diet analysis; before-and-after fi tness assessments including Bod Pod, (the gold standard in body composition measurement); and 12 weeks of weekly programming on topics ranging from goal setting to portion sizes, and food labels to behavior and weight management strate- gies.


Throughout the course of MAC Fit sessions, participants have lost body fat and gained muscle mass, resulting in an increase in metabolism, energy and strength. Best of all, most participants also improved their blood pressure and cardio respiratory health.


Once members have completed the 12-week MAC Fit program, they are eligible to join the MAC Fit alumni group, a program that helps them maintain their fi tness gains and take their nutrition knowledge to a higher level.
