How did Scott do it?


Adam Scott returned to the winner’s circle for the first time since 2008 with his victory at the Valero Texas Open. Scott used his power and finesse to claim the title:


• He made 58 of 60 putts from seven feet or less.


• Scott got it up and down 83.3 percent of the time when missing a green.


• He averaged 306.6 yards off the tee.

here are few tournaments on TOUR with a richer history than the Valero Texas Open. The tournament began in 1922 and has been


feeling like an honorary Texan since his previous two victories came in the 2007 Shell Houston Open and the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. Scott, who came into 2010 with six TOUR wins to his


credit, came from four strokes back to reach 11-under-par in Sunday’s 36-hole final day to beat Fredrik Jacobson by a stroke on the new AT&T Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio. The victory was a vindication of sorts for Scott, who
