Luke Donald (9)


England’s Luke Donald posted three runner-up finishes during the 2010 season to finished third in the final FedExCup standings. He was second at the Northern Trust Open, lost in third round of the World Golf Championships- Accenture Match Play Championship to fellow Englishman Oliver Wilson in 20 holes and tied


for sixth at the Transitions Championship. He followed a tie for second at the 2009 Verizon Heritage with a tie for third in 2010. It was the 40th top-10 and the 90th top-25 finish of his PGA TOUR career. He won the Madrid Masters on the European Tour, making an eagle on the par-5 16th hole in the final round to break a tie


with Rhys Davies. He shot four rounds in the 60s at the RBC Canadian Open to finish third. He opened the final round of The Barclays with six consecutive birdies, the longest birdie streak to open a round since Joe Durant began with seven birdies in the final round of the 2005 Honda Classic. He posted a front nine, 7-under- par 28 to equal the low nine-hole score of the season and tied for 15th. He tied for second at the Deutsche Bank Championship and was also the runner-up at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. It was the 10th second-place finish of his PGA TOUR career. He went 3-1 at the Ryder Cup to help lead the European team to a slim one-point win over the United States, capping his performance with a 1-up win over Jim Furyk to join Ian Poulter with a team-high three points earned. He turned in his top World Golf Championships performance when he tied for third at the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions in Shanghai, China.


Ian Poulter (11)


England’s Ian Poulter made 15 starts on the PGA TOUR in 2010, highlighted by a win at the World Golf Championships- Accenture Match Play Championship. As a member of victorious European Ryder Cup teams, he posted a 4-and-2 victory over fellow Englishman Paul Casey to win the Accenture Match Play Championship and became the first player from England to win a World Golf Championships event. It was his first PGA TOUR victory in 103rd starts. He was 2-up after the morning’s 18 holes, then moved to 4-up after two holes in the afternoon. The victory moved him from No. 11 to No. 5 on the Official World Golf Ranking, a career high. In his six individual matches he defeated players from six countries (United States, Australia, India, Thailand, Spain and England). He shared the second-round lead with Lee Westwood before finishing tied for tenth at the Masters. In six trips to Augusta National,


his second-best finish was a tie for 13th. He withdrew from the PGA Championship after 54 holes due to a back injury. His 3-1-0 record propelled the European Ryder Cup team to a


win and improved his career record to 8- 3-0. At year’s end, he won the UBS Hong Kong Open and added a team victory with Dustin Johnson to win the Shark Shootout.
