Orbit Room … Toting former members of now-defunct popular indie rocks bands The Promise Ring and Dismemberment Plan, Maritime will visit The Strutt on Feb. 12 with the support of locals Glowfriends and Wonder Caverns. The last time Maritime was in West Michigan was for the Midwest Fest in Grand Rapids in 2010 … National-headlining rock music returns to Battle Creek when Avenged Sevenfold performs at Kellogg Arena on Feb. 4 with Buckcherry … Multi-genre band, and friend of Sufjan Stevens, My Brightest Diamond will perform at the Knickerbocker Theatre at Hope College on Feb. 3. The project, which is the brainchild of Shara Worden, mixes opera, chamber, rock, and cabaret. Tickets are $10 for the 8 p.m. show.

Freak your friends out on Feb. 15, when the eclectic band drops 100 Lovers … For the shy, sensi- tive types, Conor Oberst has stepped out of Mexico for a while to make a new Bright Eyes album (The People’s Key). This may or may not be the last Bright Eyes album, so make sure your Feb. 15 is a memorable one … Critical English darling, Adele, is releas- ing another batch of soulful songs, 21, on Feb. 22.


THEATRE /// The Grand Haven-based Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company, Michigan’s only year-round, touring Shakespeare company, will present Bard on the Run at Dog Story Theater (7 Jefferson SE, Grand Rapids) on Feb. 11 and 12. In this production, Pigeon Creek’s actors will rehearse and perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Twelfth Night for one day each before performing them. A Midsummer Night’s Dream will play on Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. and Twelfth Night will perform on Feb.12 at 8 p.m. Tickets for adults are $15 for one show, or $25 for both. Tickets for students and seniors are $10 for one show, or $15 for both. Tickets are available at dogstorytheater.co and all ticket revenue from Bard on the Run will go to fund Pigeon Creek’s spring production of The Merchant of Venice … Mason Street Warehouse in Saugatuck has recently an- nounced its 2011 summer season.
