Tournament will be held at the IronOaks Tennis Club from February 7 through 12. Everyone is invited to come out and cheer on family, friends and neighbors who are competing. The Men’s and Women’s Doubles

event kicks off with a Barbeque/Auction on Saturday, February 5, at 1:00 p.m. Players and non-player bidders who have signed up for the BBQ (deadline: January 28, 5:00 p.m.) will enjoy a lunch of hamburgers and pasta salad. Immediately following lunch, the random pairing of

players who will form the tournament’s

teams will be held. Teams then will be auctioned to the highest bidder. (At the last event, over 100 people participated in very lively, exciting, and fun bidding!) The spirit of this special IronOaks

Tennis Club tournament is to compete and have fun while playing tennis for charity. But what makes the Calcutta unique is that you don’t have to be a tennis player to participate in the tournament! Everyone can help raise money for charity. Anyone can bid on and own a team, and everyone can buy raffl e tickets

The change would open membership to non-residents who pay dues, meet appropriate age requirements and are otherwise eligible for league membership. The vote was unanimous in favor of the change, and Bill Flinn became our fi rst non-resident member. A trial procedure was also announced by President Crocker, which will permit MOLN members 85 years and older to hit from the forward tees without effect on their white tee handicap. 
