Revolution in 1994 and represented the 3rd Congressional District of Arizona for the past 16 years, holding fast to the principles of limited government and freedom. Shadegg served as Chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee, the fi fth-ranking position in the House Leadership, from 2005 to 2006, and he was a founder and chairman of the Republican Study Committee, which became the most infl uential and respected force in the U.S. House shaping conservative policy for the country. Each Congress, Congressman Shadegg

introduced the Enumerated Powers Act, which would require each act of Congress to contain a statement of the Constitutional authority relied upon for its enactment. He introduced legislation to promote patient choice, individual ownership, and portability in health insurance. His two bills--the Patients’ Health Care Reform Act and the Health Care Choice Act--offered comprehensive, free market solutions to the rapidly rising cost of healthcare by allowing individuals to choose a health care plan that best meets their needs. He recently criticized healthcare rationing provisions included in the stimulus bill, citing the need for patients and doctors, not bureaucrats, to make treatment decisions. Newly elected LD 21 Chairman Paul

Brierley will provide us with a District report card and also give a short tutorial on the most essential job in the party: Precinct Committeeman. AZ House Rep. Tom Forese will provide an important update on AZ Legislation. For more information, contact Mike Tennant at 480-802-0178. 
