Give ‘Em Hell, Harry, one man show set for February 11
Our 33rd President, Harry S. Truman,
is the subject of this one-man show by actor Gary Sievers, whose efforts have raised almost $10,000 thus far for veterans (the non-profi t MACV Foundation). Our own Senator John McCain thinks so much of MACV’s efforts on behalf of veterans that he recently donated $1,000. Senator McCain has been invited to the 7:00 p.m. February 11 show at Chandler-Gilbert Community College (pending his schedule commitments), as has Governor Brewer. Truman, who is ironically Senator
McCain’s favorite president, has been portrayed on the college circuit for 35 years by actor Gary Sievers, who started doing this show in his 20’s, much like
Tony Award winner Hal Holbrook started doing “Mark Twain Tonight!” in his 20’s. It’s suggested that tickets be purchased online ahead of time at
www.macv.org. It is likely that tickets can be purchased at the door an hour before the show, but it should be noted that this show in the same time period last year at Mesa Community College sold out four days in advance. For questions about Give ‘Em Hell, Harry, please call 480-213-4777. Tickets can be purchased in advance
online at
www.macv.org for $15 general admission, $12.50 for veterans, seniors and students, and $10 for groups of 10 or more. For more information, call 480-213-4777. 
