No place like Home in 2012 Trade show organiser Clarion Events has announced the launch of a new dedicated trade show: Home. The new event will take place concurrently with the January 2012 edition of Top Drawer. Home is the UK’s fi rst dedicated show of UK and international suppliers of housewares, homewares and interior accessories, and will give UK and
international buyers the opportunity to source established brands, new ranges and fresh talent. Home’s product showcase will include lighting, small & occasional furniture, accessories for the kitchen and bathroom, soft furnishings, tableware, glassware and garden accessories.
Home will be co-located with Top Drawer in Earls Court Two. Ian Rudge, co-founder of infl uential trade show 100% Design, is heading up the Home team supported by a dynamic steering committee made up of leading
retailers, manufacturers, distributors and press. He said: “Home fi lls a genuine gap in the market for a dynamic, distinctive London event dedicated exclusively to products for the home. Commercial, and cleverly designed, Home is not another design event, it is an appealing trade exhibition for discriminating retailers looking for stylish, well designed, modern and classic products at price points that make sense.”
The new show has intrigued trade buyers. Paula Nickolds, buying director for John Lewis said:
“We like new ideas at John Lewis, and Home sounds like a great one: it’s in London, it’s at the right time and it fi lls a gap in the market for a stylish home products show. We’re looking forward to it!” Conran Group director Jill Webb added: “In Home, the UK will fi nally have its own dedicated
homewares and interior accessories show for trade professionals. Home’s organisers really care about design and quality, and they’ve given the show the best possible start in life by launching it alongside Top Drawer in London. I’m sure Home will be a success.”

Top Drawer will also be upgraded with a new show designer offering buyers and suppliers a new and exciting environment in which to meet. Neil Gaisford, retail portfolio director for Clarion Events commented: “The launch of Home, plus the enhancements and upgrades to Top Drawer will deliver exactly what buyers and suppliers are asking for, by creating the UK’s defi nitive and the most exciting buying centre for all homewares, gifts and accessories combining great design and commercial appeal. “I am overwhelmed by the positive response and support we have had for these developments and look forward to delivering the market something new!” The next edition of Top Drawer returns to Olympia in September, ahead of these changes.
