Clogau Gold and Richard Parks’ 737 Challenge


Clogau Gold has been announced as an offi cial high-camp sponsor of Richard Parks and team’s 737 Challenge, which they embarked on in December of last year. T e world-fi rst 737 Challenge was dreamt up by Richard Parks,


ex Welsh-international rugby player, following a career ending injury.


Richard aims to raise £1m for Marie Curie Cancer Care and the aim of the challenge is to climb the seven highest mountains on each of the world’s continents over seven months, and also venture the last degree to the Geographic North Pole and South Pole. If Richard is successful he will become the fi rst person to stand on all continental summits and poles. Clogau Gold has a long-standing relationship with the cancer


charity Marie Curie, which helps provide care for terminally ill patients in the community and in their hospices, along with support for their families. Clogau currently has a jewellery line raising money for Marie Cure Cancer Care and is an offi cial licensee of jewellery for the Welsh Rugby Union. T e sponsorship of the 737 Challenge combines the two. “When we fi rst heard about the challenge Richard was looking


to undertake we couldn’t believe it,” said Clogau’s managing director Ben Roberts. “It’s a tremendous undertaking and the scale of which is only


surpassed by Richard’s own enthusiasm for the project.” T e nine-piece 737 collection will be offi cially launched at


February’s Spring Fair International by Clogau Gold and a representative from the 737 team. Created in silver and rose gold with black enamel, the collection features three friendship bracelets, two pendants, two rings, a pair of cuffl inks and a bead charm - catering for both male and female customers who wish to own an elegant piece of jewellery while supporting the 737 team and Marie Curie Cancer Care. Inscribed on each piece is the proverb “T e horizon is only the limit of our sight” which inspired Richard to undertake this challenge ever since the words were spoken at his grandmother’s funeral.
