Houlton-Hodgdon buried Gardiner, 6-1. Sam Fitzpatrick and D.J. McGary each chipped in with a goal for the Black Hawks. Malik Abouleish made 20 saves. BryantWhitley scored for Gardiner on an assist fromMattMcDonald.


 Old Town 8, Orono 1 Cody Cross potted four goals and assisted on two others as the Old Town


Coyotes cruised past Orono, 8-1. Kyle Dubay, DavidWilcox, Alex Leitheiser and Markus Sapiel each added a goal for Old Town in its season-opener. Zach Madden picked up two assists. Nathan Colanino made 22 saves on 23 shots. Tannar Francis scored for Orono on a feed from Brewster Cherkis. Michael Brown and Dan Fowler combined for 17 saves on 25 shots.


 Brewer 6,Waterville 2 Lucas Lamond snapped a 2-2 deadlock early in the third period, Kyle


Alexander made it 4-2 a short time later and Jacob Chapman and Spencer Valley added another goal each in the final frame to lift defending Class B cham- pion Brewer to a win over the Class A Purple Panthers. Alexander, Lamond and Valley combined for four goals and six assists. TylerWhite had the other Brewer goal while Tim Locke and Kyle Bishop scored forWaterville.


 Yarmouth 6, Camden Hills 4 Joey King scored twice as the Clippers stopped Camden Hills, 6-4. Alex


Kurtz added three assists and Eamon Costello had a goal and two assists for Yarmouth, which gave up a goal early in the first and then scored four goals in a row to regain the advantage.


Winslow 3, Orono 2 The Black Raiders scored three goals in the third period to earn a 3-2 come-


from-behind win over Orono. EricWillette scored the game-winner with 26 sec- onds left in the game. Dalton Thompson and Justin Bouchard assisted on the goal. Trailing 2-0 after two periods,Willette and Bouchard each scored late in the third period to tie the game.Matt Cloutier scored a power-play goal in the first to give the Red Riots a lead, and Brewster Cherkis added another on the man advantage in the second for a 2-0 cushion. Cam Tibbetts made 14 saves for Winslow.Mike Brown had 34 stops for Orono.


 Leavitt 10,Westbrook 1 Cooper Legee, Eric Lamothe and Tyler Hutchinson netted two goals each


as Leavitt skated to a 10-1 romp over Westbrook. The Hornets jumped out to a 6-0 advantage in the first period and were never challenged.Max Cloutier, Nick Allen, JacobGladu and Josh Chouinard also tallied for Leavitt to complete the scoring. Damien Doucette tallied the lone goal forWestbrook in the second peri- od.


 Greely 5, Cape Elizabeth 2 Justin Murphy scored two goals during a five-goal second period for the


Rangers as Greely toppled Cape Elizabeth, 5-2.Kenny Richards, Erik Rost and John Downey each had a goal and an assist for the Rangers. Matt Labbe stopped 21 shots for the win. Austin Shields andWilson Laprade scored for the Capers.


 York 1, Cape Elizabeth 0 Defensemen Alex Jannetti scored early in the second period and Alex


Ahrikenchikh made 13 saves as the Wildcats shut out the Capers, 1-0. Tyson Bernard set up Jannetti at the point.
