BACKGROUND
Saint Michael’s College is a small, friendly international school currently offering GCSE, A Level and University Foundation courses to students from all over the world. The school is situated in the region known as the ‘Heart of England’, close to the cities of Hereford and Worcester, an area of delightful rolling hills and natural beauty. It is an ideal location for those seeking a quiet, safe and supportive environment in which to study.
The school specialises in the teaching of English as a Foreign Language and is accredited by the British Council for its English Language provision. The school is also registered with the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF No. 885/6036)
THE INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION PROGRAMME
The International Foundation Programme is a one- year academic programme aimed at students who:
• have already completed secondary education in their own country but require an extra year’s study in order to reach the appropriate level for undergraduate study in the UK;
or
• have the necessary academic qualifications but need to further develop their English language and study skills in preparation for a degree programme.
We recognise such students require a more specialised English Language course than is usually offered in most school systems and our Foundation Programme extends far beyond a general English language programme. It concentrates mainly on English for academic purposes and IELTS preparation.
In addition to these essential academic qualities Saint Michael’s College provides a safe structured environment, with excellent pastoral care in small, friendly and pleasant surroundings.
