IF
you expected a nice quiet start to 2011 then January probably came as quite a shock! The year certainly started with a bang in Cologne – we’ll be reporting on the Living Kitchen exhibition next month, as well as poring over the latest interiors trends from the capital of fashion, Paris, where Maison et Objet took place recently. There’s no shortage of trends to be covered this month either. Our main focus is on
wallcoverings, an area that has matured nicely over the last few years. Creative ideas and rapidly advancing technology have meant that the possibilities continue to grow and grow. Now it’s all about texture and form – elevating the walls into something far more important than just a backdrop for other aspects of the interior scheme. We’ve also got plenty of case studies to help inspire you – including a house that perhaps
does more than any other to extol the virtues (and the versatility) of solid surface material in the home. Finally, we’re gearing up to launch the 2011 Design Awards very soon so have a think about any of your recent projects that you feel are deserving of wider recognition - and get ready to tell us all about them. See next month’s Designer for further details and keep an eye on
