in New York, or just plain like New York, you’re invited to the seventh New York state party, “Olde Tyme New York,” a celebration of New York’s Golden Age. It will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 in The Vistas Dining Room at SaddleBrooke Clubhouse. A social hour and no-host bar begins at 5 to 6 p.m. Hot dogs are included. Dinner and dancing continue from 6 to 9 p.m. with music provided by DJ Gus ‘d Oldie and Ms. Gina (one from the Bronx and the other from Brooklyn). Dinner choices include chateaubriand,


crab-stuffed sole, or a vegetarian entree. Dessert is New York style cheesecake. Many fabulous door prizes will be provided by generous donors, and you can participate in a 50/50 raffl e with net proceeds going to


SaddleBrooke Community Outreach. The cost is $39 per person and includes

Singers started


rehearsing for their spring concert, Fascinating Rhythms, which will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 10, at 4 p.m. at the DesertView Performing Arts Center. Dr. Linda Griffi n,


director of the


SaddleBrooke Singers, will feature the music of Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, and Cole Porter. SaddleBrooke residents can reminisce as they hear the singers perform Blue Skies, Alexander’s Ragtime Band, and Anything You Can Do written by Irving Berlin. The singers will perform George Gershwin’s Embraceable You, They Can’t Take That Away from Me, and Summertime.


Cole Porter songs include I’ve Got You Under My Skin, You’d Be So Nice to Come Home to, and Let’s Fall in Love. The concert will feature male soloists, female soloists, in addition to songs sung by small groups and the entire 70 person chorus. Watch for more information on Fascinating Rhythms in next month’s paper. Tickets for the spring concert are now


available at the MountainView Country Club ticket offi ce or online at http://tickets. saddlebrooketwo.com/. Tickets are $16 inclusive or $20 at the door. Prices include all applicable taxes.
