Itinerary Day 1: Uluru (Ayers Rock)


After airport arrival and hotel transfer, drive to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), a magnificent cluster of 36 domes which dominates the western skyline of the park. Join a walk into Walpa (Olga) Gorge, where some of the plants are so rare that they are only found in and around these distinct sandstone monoliths. Stop and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine as you watch the changing colours of Uluru (Ayers Rock) at sunset.

Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock) – Kings Canyon


Rise early and watch as the day’s first light strikes Uluru. Take a guided walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole. See cave paintings and hear the legends of Kuniya Tjukurpa (Python Dreaming). Tour the base of Uluru before joining your guide to learn about the geology and flora of the region on the Mala Walk. Explore Kantju Gorge before visiting the Cultural Centre and Maruku Arts and Craft Cooperative to see Aboriginal artists at work. This afternoon journey to Kings Canyon.

Day 3: Kings Canyon – Alice Springs


Enjoy a guided walk to the rim of Kings Canyon and through the Lost City and Garden of Eden (requires a good degree of fitness). An alternative walk along the canyon floor is available. This afternoon, travel via Kings Creek Station to Alice Springs, returning approximately 6.30pm.

Itinerary Day 1: Alice Springs – Yulara


Departing Alice Springs, head south, stopping for a short visit at the Outback Camel Farm (rides at own expense) and then heading straight to Yulara permanent campsite. The afternoon is spent exploring Uluru (Ayers Rock) a world heritage-listed area. Time for a guided base tour, exploring ancient caves where aboriginal paintings can be viewed, returning in time to take in a spectacular sunset. Later, return to camp for a traditional Aussie meal.


Overnight: Campsite - Ayers Rock Resort Day 2: Yulara – Kings Creek

An early rise for an exciting morning with breathtaking views of sunrise at Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). Go for a walk to appreciate the beauty of the 36 magic domes and learn about the flora and fauna. This afternoon, travel through red sand dunes and desert oak country to Kings Creek Cattle Station, where optional activities are abundant. Tonight, sample a traditional camp oven dinner.


Overnight: Kings Creek Permanent Campsite Day 3: Kings Creek – Alice Springs

This morning visit breathtaking Kings Canyon. Take your time to hike around the canyon rim viewing sites such as the Lost City and the Garden of Eden, as well as the striking North and South Walls. Return to Kings Creek Station for lunch before travelling through sand-dune country as you head back to Alice Springs.

Day 3: Kings Creek – Wallace Rockhole This morning visit breathtaking Watarrka National Park, home of Kings Canyon. Hike around the canyon rim viewing sites like the Lost City and the Garden of Eden. After a picnic lunch, head off towards the MacDonnell Ranges. In the afternoon, stop at Hermannsburg - home to well known artist Albert Namatjira. Drive to Wallace Rockhole Aboriginal Community, your overnight camp.

Day 4: Wallace Rockhole – Alice Springs


This morning visit the Rockhole to view Aboriginal rock art and to learn about the Aboriginal culture (seasonal). Participate in an Aboriginal Dot Painting Class, learning some of the traditional techniques used. Today, you’ll also explore highlights of the Western MacDonnell Ranges, Standley Chasm and Simpsons Gap and enjoy a picnic in the beautiful surroundings, and do some hiking where you may see rock wallabies. Later, continue on to Alice Springs, arriving at approximately 6.30pm.
