The Tamaki experience begins with a journey back in time to pre-European times with stories, history and protocols in preparation for the ceremonies to follow. Travel to Tamaki Village, set deep in the forest, where a traditional welcome ceremony signals entry into the village. Enter the heart of the village and the meeting house where the Rangiatea culture group offers a glimpse of the tradition, performance, songs and history of the Maori people. Enjoy a traditionally cooked feast (hangi) from earthen ovens and the lively entertainment.

See New Zealand’s national icon, the kiwi, in the nocturnal house and learn about their plight for survival. Gaze eye to eye with New Zealand’s living dinosaur, the rare and endangered Tuatara, on display as part of a national breeding programme. View more than 90 different native plants, trees and ferns, feed several species of trout, including the Rainbow, Brown, Tiger Trout and Brook Char. A one-hour sheep show and sheep shearing demonstration is included as well as the opportunity to milk a cow, feed lambs and view a dog trial.

The Rotorua Diamond Pass is for those with limited time in Rotorua. All attractions can be visited easily in a day. If your stay is longer, you may visit the attractions over the duration of your stay. It’s that flexible! The pass is an easy one-ticket pass to the five major attractions of Rotorua. Attractions include visits to the Agrodome Sheep Show (8.30am- 5.00pm), Paradise Valley Springs (8.00am-6.00pm), Polynesian Spa (8.30am-11.00pm, last entry 10.15pm), Skyline Skyrides Gondola (9.00am till end of dining at night), Te Puia (8.00am-5.00pm winter and 6.00pm summer). There are no transfers included in this pass.
