OH yes it is – panto time again at Teignmouth! Hansel and Gretel is the ‘refreshing change’ from the usual format for the Teignmouth Players at the Carlton Theatre, said spokesman Rodney Bowen.
They are also ‘thrilled’ to welcome Maggie Campbell as the producer. ‘She is enthusiastic about the prospect and describes it as an exciting and traditional panto, with lots of fun, song and dance, with a story that includes witches, the gin- gerbread children, and the Good Fairy, creating sus- pense and excitement.’ Dame Do Good, played by Iain Ferguson – his first time as a dame – is driven to distraction, mainly by Dickie Dimwit (Charlotte Bouchard), who appears to put her foot into it too often and spoil things. The panto runs unitl January 8.
The box office is open from 10am to noon from Mondays to Saturdays.
