EWTON Abbot’s 17th annual charity ball raised enough


money to fund a mission by Devon Air Ambulance, the evening’s chosen charity. Guests at the Grand


Hotel, Torquay, were wined and dined and danced to the music of the Paul and Suzie Brown trio. Afterwards they dug into their pockets, rais- ing £2,000, a figure, chair- man Keith Stokes-Smith said he knew they would be proud of. ‘Every mission undertaken by Devon Air Ambulance costs them £3,000 and I knew that this sum, despite the great gen- erosity of our guests was probably beyond our reach. ‘I was therefore very happy to invite a friend of mine
