Artist wins a once in a Blue Moon award


Michelle takes first prize in American design contest


WINNING DESIGN: Michelle Wilcox’s Blue Moon guitar.


TEIGNMOUTH artist Michelle Wilcox is cele- brating after becoming the first British person to win the CBS 2010 Dichroic By Design Contest in America. She won the contest, set up by CBS in Califor- nia, after entering a colourful mosaic guitar, titled Blue Moon, that she created. CBS manufactures dichroic glass, a special- ist art glass that has to be fired in a kiln. Michelle saw the competition advertised on the webpage of her glass supplier and decided to enter the guitar and another piece of her work, a mosaic picture. ‘I have been using dichroic glass for the last eight months as it is lighter and has amazing
