(Advanced Television) SMALL SCALE VIDEO SERVICE ON DRM

The world’s first Diveemo live broadcast was showcased at the IBC. Diveemo is a new small scale video service for Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM), a joint project between Fraunhofer IIS, Thomson Broadcast and Chengdu NewStar Electronics. During the presentation a demonstration of a video broadcast with BBC content was displayed on a UniWave DRM receiver.

After its introduction to the world at IBC, DRM Consortium, Nautel, RFmondial and Fraunhofer engineers demonstrated how their new equipment could offer the possibility of DRM+ in digitalising FM stations. Another DRM member, Digidia, was showing the small chipset board developed with the South Korean Research Institute KETI and produced by PNP of Korea which means that a DRM+ commercial receiver is only months away.
