“Thumbs down. 12/8: Methuen police blocked Rte 110 without a detour sign posted and refused to give directions. All he said was, ‘There are too many cars here you got to find it yourself. You gotta go, you gotta go.’ Not everyone has a GPS.”
“Thumbs up to my Lord and Savior, Jesus-the reason for the season! Without Him, everything is meaningless. May everyone be abundantly blessed this season with hope and peace, and knowledge of His unconditional love. He lived and died, just for YOU! <3”
“Thumbs up to the beautiful job that DeMoulas has done to the plaza on Rte 28. That area was a bit of an eye sore and now it’s a show place. Thank you!”
“Thumbs up to Postal Center USA for all of the
hard work she does for the troops. She has been packing packages for months and shipping them for free! I am sure that the troops appreciate her efforts.”
“Thumbs up to all of the organizations and
individuals that do so much for the needy and elderly during the holiday season. Just remember that their needs don’t disappear. Check up on the elderly and the needy year round.”
“Thumbs up to the Tuscan Kitchen for a phenomenal Business After Hours that they hosted for the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce. The food was delicious and the wine was superb! And the atmosphere is so warm and inviting. I am so glad that we have a new dining experience in Salem- Nice job!”
“Thumbs down to the person that complained about the Lancaster School craft fair- I bet you never volunteer for anything and sit there and criticize everything!”
“Thumbs down to the Salem BOS for deleting the Code Enforcement position. One of the bylaws that is supposed to be enforced in this Town is that businesses should not park their

“Thumbs up to Salem Boy
Scout Troop 409. I just visited my neighbor who is in rehab at the Manchester VA, and saw a nice note and gift from Troop 409 given to the hero’s who helped keep this country free. Thank you as many VA residents do not have family
and they seemed very happy to be remembered.” “Thumbs down, a big ‘thumbs down’ to all
who complained when gas was three dollars under President Bush but keep quiet when it is over three dollars under Obama. I guess you complainers must be liberal democrats.”
“Thumbs down to Everyday Math. In a spirited discussion at my house last weekend, some neighbors and I enjoyed some discussion about the appropriateness of our recent school renovations and district in need of improvement status. While we remained at different opinions about the renovations, we are 100% in agreement that Everyday Math has failed our 9th, 7th, 6th and 2nd graders. The freshman is struggling in high school math and the 2nd grader can’t add single digits in her head (but yet is getting positive math feedback on report cards). Somebody save us!”
curriculum and/or the teachers that specialize in teaching math to our children. Remember this when it comes time to vote for school board or on the school budget (at the deliberative session). We will be asked for even more money, but this is the plan they are using to improve our math scores (
http://www.sau57.org/parents/Documents/DINI- Plan.pdf). And our superintendent needs extra money budgeted for more flat screen TVs at the HS, rather than an appropriate math curriculum at the elementary schools.”
“Thumbs down, a big ‘thumbs down’ to Lancelot Court and their inept ability to hire a plow company that can actually plow the parking lots and shovel walkways. We pay good money along with Condo fees to live here and 48 hours after the storm started, all we have is a single pathway plowed around the complex. This is totally unacceptable... I guess this is what you should expect when you hire the company with the lowest bid ... A NO SHOW RESPONSE, along with dangerous walkways ... HAPPY NEW YEAR.”
“Thumbs up to Steven Campbell for being the only conservative and level headed member of the Budget Committee. Voters should start to notice that the rest of the board will vote to approve anything, no matter how high the cost. Plain and simple, if you own a home in Salem your taxes went up almost 10% this year. Now there is talk of a 4% increase in Salem’s operating budget. The entire country noticed when Obama overspent by changing things during the last election. How is this any different? Its time for the voters of Salem to wake up, or stay asleep and keep getting pushed around.”

“Thumbs down to the Salem School District. Here is the progress report on our District In Need of Improvement (DINI) remediation plan. All parents and towns folks should read the update on the plan at the following website http://www.

“Thumbs down to Rep Marilinda Garcia for supporting the resolution (HCR26).”
“Thumbs down to Walter
Kolodziej for missing the vote on HCR26.”
“Thumbs down to the town of Salem for continuously raising operating costs. VOTERS NEED TO TAKE A STAND NOW! It is time to vote against the $6,846,000 bond for road repair, against
the $34,936,778 operating budget, and against the $474,078 for new water meters. If no one shows up February 5th Salem will once again make hardworking taxpayers pay through the nose. A message needs to be sent loud and clear! Also: if you don’t show up- don’t complain!!”

“Thumbs down to Subaru at Second Street in
Manchester. The ‘ad’ for the holidays were 3 teenagers saying ‘let’s help dad sell more cars,’ etc. – using ‘Dad’s’ credit card. What a message to send to youngsters??! Then the ‘kids’ get the card out of dad’s jacket pocket. ‘I got it,’ she says! What?? I wonder what this guy would do if ‘his kids’ really used this card to the max? This was a terrible ad, we heard so many (bad) comments on this from teachers, parents, and students, also in church was a discussion in the pews. One comment was from an older woman- she said, ‘I hope he doesn’t sell even 1 car,’ and the people all around all agreed!”
“Thumbs down to the condescending selectman. Try working with your fellow board members and not against them. You will see a lot more work get done.”
