Well, 2010 is officially put to bed...or maybe it’s just hiding in the closet, like an escort waiting for Charlie Sheen to find his wallet

and watch. In short, what a year it was! From ole Chuck and his idea of a family getaway, to Lindsay Lohan and her return to rehab again (hope you get it together, girl), and Mel Gibson showed us why he was the perfect choice to play Mad Max back in the day. Plus, Ricky Martin and Sean Hayes both confirmed what we had suspected for years by opening up their closet doors, and we found more than clothes in there!

But there were non-celebrity related doings, as well.

The small screen saw Glee pay homage to Britney Spears and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, gave Kurt (Chris Colfer) a “Teenage Dream” of a friend (Darren Criss), and made guest star Gwyneth Paltrow seem as cool as she was during the latter part of the ’90s. And that was no short order, okay? The Hasselhoffs proved to be a “hoff-ful” inclusion to reality TV, and was cancelled after two episodes. Meanwhile, Bravo gave us two new Housewives cities to visit, and LOGO invited us onto their A-List: New York.

On the movie front, we discovered that Jim Carrey was smitten with Phillip Morris, James Franco likes to Howl, and, surprisingly the Scissor Sisters were not included on the soundtrack for the Annette Bening and Julianne Moore lesbian flick, The Kids Are All Right. While music-minded teenage girls were boy crazy with a massive case of “Bieber Fever,” their gay male counterparts were lovin’ the

ladies. We were still goo goo for GaGa (her meat dress, not so much), helped Ke$ha keep the dollar sign in her name, made sure Katy Perry didn’t suffer from a sophomore slump, and celebrated Pink Friday with Nicki Minaj.

The aforementioned artist known as “Just Jack” (Sean Hayes, hello!) headlined The Great White Way’s revival of Promises, Promises with the fantastic Kristin Chenoweth, while Kelsey Grammer channeled his, uh, super straight-acting Frasier character into his Tony- nominated turn in La Cage au Folles.

Ok, enough about 2010! In the words of the incomparable Hilary Duff that’s “So Yesterday.”

Let’s take a gander at what 2011 has in store for us in the areas of TV, Movies, Music and Stage. by tim parks
