If you’ve always wanted to learn to dance jive to Rock ‘n’ Roll music then you have the opportunity in January at Tavistock Town Hall.


On Saturday 15th January at 7:30pm, TaviJive instructors Malcolm & Heather White will host a FREE taster session to introduce their next course for Beginners/Refreshers which starts the following Wednesday (19th) and runs for 8 consecutive Wednesdays. You can attend the Taster with no obligation to join the rest of the course but Malcolm is confident that you will find this a fun way of burning off those extra Christmas calories and learn a dance style that will open the door to a whole new social network of Rock ‘n’ Roll events throughout the South West and the rest of the country.


Town Hall lasts for two hours from 7:45 to 9:45pm. Places will be restricted to 50, so if you are sure you want to take advantage of this opportunity then ring Tavistock Town Hall on 01822 617232 or TaviJive on 01822 615894 to reserve your place, or come along to the Taster Session and make your mind up once you have sampled the dance style.

Also, if you already know how to jive, or want the chance to get in some extra practice, or even just like the music from the era, then come along to Tavistock Town Hall on Monday evenings from 7:30 - 9:30pm for our regular Rock ‘n’ Roll Dance Nights. These sessions cost just £3 on the door and present a great chance to dance to ‘50s style rock ‘n’ roll, have fun, keep fit and meet new people. Again these events are hosted by TaviJive and although there is no formal tuition, Malcolm and Heather and other experienced jivers are on hand to provide advice if required.
