Citroën EuroTaxi™
yrshire cab owner John Harvey is full of praise for Cab Direct’s economical Citroën EuroTaxi™.
Cab driver and owner of Clyde Cabs, in Weymss Bay, John took delivery of a new EuroTaxi™ from Cab Direct. By his own admission, he is over the moon with his new cab. John says: “I am absolutely delighted with the EuroTaxi – I literally can’t praise it enough.”
Speaking of his decision to opt for the UK’s best priced hackney, John explains: “I had been driving a Fiat Scudo but my driver wrote it off. At that point I called Cab Direct and I have to say, the service I received was phenomenal. Their sales agent couldn’t have been more helpful. When I explained everything I needed, the EuroTaxi seemed to fit the bill perfectly. I couldn’t believe the standard of the vehicle for the money.”
Economy
Purpose-built for the job you do, the Citroën EuroTaxi provides excellent earning power at a truly unbeatable price. From just £18,995 on the road, it’s Britain’s lowest costing full spec hackney, combining all you need in a modern day cab with unrivalled value for money.
Available with a choice of 90 or 120hp power plants, Citroën’s latest generation of diesel engines offers superb reliability as well as being 20% more efficient than its predecessor. That means you can work longer on one tank of fuel than with other hackney cabs. In fact, opt for the HDi 90 diesel engine, as John did, and you’ll enjoy an impressive 39.2 miles per gallon on the combined cycle (Source: VCA independent fuel consumption figures).
John comments: “I’ve been really impressed with the fuel efficiency of the EuroTaxi. I’m getting great value for money.”
Comfort & Driveability
Excellent road holding and modern suspension are also your reassurance of a smooth and comfortable ride with EuroTaxi™. The raised driving position, large windscreen and side windows plus full sized-wide angle mirrors mean the EuroTaxi™ comes up trumps when it comes to busy traffic. The amount of space in both the driver and passenger compartments, also assures you of a relaxing driving environment.
Thumbs Up for E7 in Liverpool T
homas Hegarty from Liverpool was one of the first in the city to change his vehicle from a TX to an E7™ following Cab Direct’s landmark victory at the High Court last year. Months on, he is still singing the praises of the purpose-built favourite.
Thomas says: “I’ve been a cab driver for fifteen years and had been driving a TX2. However, when we were finally given a choice of vehicle, I decided it was time for a change. And I’m glad I did! The E7 is just fantastic. I’ve recommended it to loads of other drivers since taking delivery.”
Comfort Cab
When your cab is your office it’s vital that you have the right vehicle for the job. That’s why E7™ was designed with the requirements of the modern- day driver front of mind. Inspired vehicle design has created superb driver comfort. Plus E7™ features a professional driver’s seat with active pump- action height and tilt adjustment meaning you can find the perfect driving position for you. It also provides additional lumbar support – ideal when you spend long hours behind the wheel.
Thomas says: “For me, the best thing about the E7™ is the comfort. It’s miles better than the TX - the driver’s seat is fantastic. It’s one of the main comments I get from customers too – lots of people have mentioned what a comfortable and quiet ride it is.”
E7’s comfort levels are further complemented by the spacious driver and rear compartments. Standard features such as electric one-touch windows, steering mounted audio controls, air conditioning and many handy storage areas also combine to provide the perfect working environment.
Best for Access Another big plus point for Thomas is the level of accessibility provided by the E7™. So much so that he has secured regular contract work. Thomas explains: “E7 is just superb for access. I now have a regular customer who I was unable to take in my TX because her wheelchair was too big to fit through the door. I also get quite a lot of work from the NHS – they’re specifically asking for an E7 because of the improved access.”
Taxis are clearly a vital component of the UK’s public transport network. Even more so for disabled people, for whom taxis are often the primary mode of transport. As such, the E7™ raises standards in accessibility for wheelchair users – and consequently, you, the driver.
Manual or cab-operated electric side-steps, together with high visibility grab handles and floor edging assist passenger entry and exit, while both rear and tip-up seats are ergonomically designed for ease of use. Plus E7’s revolutionary EasyGlide™ ramp makes loading wheelchair passengers quick and easy.
Thomas concludes: “The E7 is a fantastic cab. For driveability, economy and space as well as comfort and access, I’d recommend it to anyone. Cab Direct and Taxifix, the local Liverpool dealer, have been great too.”

– First for Economy
John says: “The cab is much more comfortable than what I had before. Both the conversion and the finish of the vehicle are fantastic. There’s loads of room and it’s a great drive too. I like the fact that I can comfortably take six passengers and their luggage.”
John continues: “I’ve had lots of positive feedback from customers saying how comfortable the cab is. The separately controlled rear heater is a particular favourite with the kids I take in the morning.”
Ease of Access The EuroTaxi™ is available with a choice of two models, both providing full wheelchair access. The L model is Britain’s lowest costing wheelchair accessible cab whilst the LX benefits from the EasyGlide™ under-floor ramp.
John comments: “I do a fair bit of wheelchair access work and it’s absolutely no bother at all with the EuroTaxi – it couldn’t be simpler. It’s a great cab all round and superb value for money.”
