ATTORNEY

SHANA ROOKS

FINDS HAPPINESS & SUCCESS IN HER OWN LAW PRACTICE

For Attorney Shana Rooks, success came at a young age when she

started her own law firm, Shana M. Rooks & Associates, LLC, and she has never looked back.

Born and raised in Dublin, Georgia, she graduated from Spelman

College and then Tulane University Law School. After Law School, Shana thought working at a large firm was her calling; however, after her limited time with one, she quickly realized the demands and climate of a large firm did not add substance to her life. “I felt I could create an environment that I would enjoy and develop the client base I wanted, so I hung my shingle and the rest is history,” she says. As if those accomplishments weren’t enough, Shana was appointed as a

Clayton County Juvenile Pro Temp Judge at the age of 27, and two years later was appointed to the Clayton County Magistrate Bench. Shana’s strength and determination is inherited from her mother, who worked

hard as a single parent raising five children in poverty. Although Shana lost her mother in 2004 to cancer, Shana keeps that indomitable spirit alive. “Being poor for me only meant that my mother had limited income; it was

never our state of mind. It never hindered me from pursuing my dreams.” Shana also finds time to give back to the community. She serves on the

executive board of the Psi Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incas, as Second Vice President of the Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity, and as President of the Southern Crescent Pearls Foundation. She has received numerous honors and awards for her charitable work. With her busy life, Shana loves to travel, but finds that there is no place

like home. Shana M. Rooks & Associates, LLC 770-473-1989 www.ShanaRooksLaw.com
