MALDEN RUSHETT RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION Chairman: Beryl Gibson 0775 1024358

With Christmas festivities now just a memory, we are back to everyday life in Malden Rushett.

We held our Annual General Meeting in November and it was very well attended by residents despite the bad weather at the time. Our meetings our aimed at gathering residents views and opinions on what is going on around them and, so that residents can get together socially and catch up on the news with their neighbours.

Lots of issues on the agenda for the coming year such as the dangerous road junction, speeding in Fair Oak Lane, lack of care by both Transport for London and Kingston Council of the local environment and of course the proposals for the waste management scheme. Neither of these agencies can blame the governments austerity measures on the lack of services in Malden Rushett because the neglect has been happening for years. The accidents continue to happen at the road junction and children continue to risk their lives everyday crossing Fair Oak Lane to go to school in Chessington.

We are concerned that we may loose some of our police support in the South of the Borough and the MRRA has written to Commander Greenslade to explain how important it is that this does not happen. We have explained that the reason we have a low crime rate in Malden Rushett is because of the dedicated and informed police team patrolling our village for all to see, we want this to continue.
