New mobile Chiropody/Podiatry service in Felixstowe
Carl Barton Bsc (Pod Med), is pleased to announce his new mobile Chiropody/Podiatry service in Felixstowe.
After graduating with a 3 year honours degree in Podiatric Medicine from Brighton university, in 1997 ( with help from Port of Felixstowe, sponsorship ) Carl spent many years working as a senior Podiatrist within the National Health Service.
Therefore he has considerable experience working with a range of foot problems, including Diabetes and Circulation related issues.
Carl explains "It is important to recognise the difference between a Podiatrist/Chiropodist, against other footcare practitioners. Only a Podiatrist is able to work within the National Health Service. We have the level of training to diagnose and treat a whole wealth of problems. As well as providing a high stan- dard of basic footcare treatments, we can advise and treat people with foot pain, and assess for insole requirements, and perform
minor surgery under local anaesthetic.
All Podiatrists are regulated by the Health Professions Council, which is an independent body, designed to protect the public"
Now having returned to his hometown of Felixstowe. Carl offers a home visiting service. Which can include the following:
 Pre and post op, foot cleansing  Nailcare and Corn and Callouses treatment  Treatment and advice regarding bunions, toe deformities.  Ingrowing toenail treatment, minor surgery  Circulation Assessment  Biomechanics and Sports injuries
For the month of January, there is a special offer of £15 for treatments, instead of the usual £20, for new and existing clients. For more information you can contact Carl on 07963 132 963.
New from the West End Felixstowe W.I.
At our meeting in October we again welcomed Mrs Phyllis Davies who recited "A Miscellany of Poems". As usual Mrs Davies was very entertain- ing - none of us can quite believe what a marvellous memory she has. Another really enjoyable evening for us all.17 November was our A.G.M. We also held our bi-annual craft competition. All entries were judged by an independent judge prior to the meeting and then displayed on the evening for everyone to see. There was certainly a varied selection of crafts - there is a lot of talent amongst our members. We held our Christmas Party on 15 December and Mr Michael Stagg gave a talk with slides, entitled "Images of Suffolk", which proved to be extremely interesting. All our members brought party treats and it was a happy meeting to finish off the year. We meet again on 19 January 2011 when Mrs Sue Barnard will be displaying and speaking about her Hand-made Glasswork. We have recently been very pleased to welcome two new members - but we still continue to warmly welcome visitors and/or new members to our meetings, which are held at 7.30pm on the third Wednesday of each month at the Senior Citizen's Centre, Broadway House, Orwell Road, Felixstowe. There is always a raffle and tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.
