Make 2011 Tennis Resolutions a Reality


H


ow many members made tennis- related new year’s resolutions? Perhaps to play more, get more first serves in, make fewer errors, update equipment, or meet new people? Good news! Thanks to MAC’s outstanding tennis program, members can be close to realizing those resolutions.


Instruction is available in a variety of ways, from private lessons to team clinics and or the popular Tennis University classes. Classes are offered for youth and adults of all ability levels. Be sure to see the class guide in last month’s issue or log on to the MAC website.

Open play


One of the best ways for members to broaden their personal tennis roster is to participate in men’s or women’s open play. Men’s open play is Mondays at 5 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:15 a.m. for challenge courts 1-2 and 5, and 9:30 a.m. for all

courts. Women’s open play is Tuesdays at 8:15 a.m. until noon unless there is a City League match, then it goes until 11:30 a.m. Women’s open play also is held Thursdays at 5 p.m. on courts 5-7 in the Parking Structure.

Super senior USTA leagues kick off in January


Players may also expand their tennis roster through USTA team competition. For players age 60 and older, Super Senior League play offers doubles competition and fun. There are women’s and men’s teams from 2.5–4.5 that compete locally and often advance through sectional play-
