How much will the online aspect of the Casino play in the future of the Grand Casino Helsinki?

RAY will soon launch its own online gaming operations, and this will open up several new opportunities for GCH, firstly in poker, but on a wider scale further along in the future.

What would you say are some of the unique aspects about the Grand Casino Helsinki?

The Casino’s background organisation, Finland’s Slot Machine Association, provides our operations with a unique foundation which meets with wide approval in Finland. GCH is the only casino in the world whose profits are allocated in their entirety to health and welfare work.

How many slots does the casino have and do you have any plans to increase on the existing amount?

We have some 300 slots and there was a plan to extend the number to approximately 380. Due to the current economic climate, we have decided to delay the expansion.

Does the Casino have multiplayers if so who is the manufacturer and what were the reasons behind choosing from that supplier / or suppliers? Did they go on trial as is the case with a lot of Casinos in order to prove their popularity?

We have been operating Novomatic Touch Bet terminals for several years and have been very pleased with them.

At the time when we chose Novomatic, they had the best package for our purpose and we had already established good relations with the company and the key persons there.

We were moving to new premises and did not have the chance for trial runs, but right from the beginning we knew that Touch Bet would become as popular as it did.

We also operate Sega Derby horse race terminals – not a huge revenue-maker, but lots of fun and action, especially for new customers. Unfortunately our horses are getting old and soon they will have to retire…
