AUDI DEBUTS IN THE FOUR-DOOR COUPÉ SEGMENT WITH THE NEW A7, A CAR THAT MARRIES THE BEAUTY OF FORM WITH THE EXCELLENCE OF CONTENT

ince the turn of the 21st century, Audi has adopted an extremely aggressive policy of development and launch of new products which would appeal to every type of customer, and has thus made a significant effort to create a model for every segment of the market. In this sense, the German make’s more traditional A3, A4, A6 and A8 are joined by the A5, A1, Q7 and Q5; it broke into the supersports market with the R8 and revolu- tionised the pioneering TT, presenting a vast and comprehensive catalogue in every sense, which is one of the most complete in the whole industry. However, the German manu - facturer wants more, and the four-ring emblem has some new offerings in the pipeline for the next decade. For now, created for the competitive four-door coupé market, Audi enters 2011 with the amazing A7, a car that exudes technology and quality and that’s placed between the A6 - the upgrade of which will arrive soon - and the recent A8, the make’s undisputed top of the range.


With bold and inspired lines with a notably high waistline and shorter windows, and with a long profile that introduces the striking rear of stunning proportions, the A7 is a mark in the design history of the Ingolstadt cars. The single-frame grill is borrowed from the A8, but the appearance is more like the A5, the car that Walter de’Silva, design director of the Volkswagen group and the most powerful car designer today, admit- ted to be the most beautiful he has designed to date. The headlights are made up of 18 LEDs and there is an integrated spoiler in the back that lifts at around 130km/h. With a 2+2 configuration, the A7 is a car in which four adults can travel perfectly com- fortably, disproving the supposed disadvantage of the sloping roof line in terms of space. Audi, however, would consider a five-seat version if the demand was there. The interiors are of 
