Cockermouth Indian restaurant back in business

A Cockermouth restaurant will soon reopen following extensive refurbishment after last year’s floods which dev- astated the north of England town.

The Spice Club lost everything when the floods hit but more than a year on the curry restaurant is nearly ready to reopen with a new ceiling, floors, walls and kitchen as well as a Georgian shop front and windows. Owner Brian Trengove says, “The reopening can’t come soon enough because it has been frustrating with all the problems we have had. However, we are pleased we have been able to come back with a restaurant that is a credit to Cockermouth.”
