G’day from Sydney
Sydney is home to the Flying Fish Sail Academy at Middle Harbour Yacht Club. You know you’re at the right venue as this is also the base for the Australian Olympic sailing team. With Flying Fish you’ll soon be cruising past the Sydney Opera House and under the famous bridge.
Middle Harbour has an active racing scene. Newcomers will learn the excitement of competition and experienced racers are always in demand to join a crew.
Leave the harbour and the ocean sailing is magnificent. On a Flying Fish course you explore the New South Wales coast, heading south along the route of the Sydney Hobart race or north towards Seal Rocks and Coffs Harbour. Wind conditions vary from warm north-easterly sea breezes to strong southerly busters. This is offshore passage-making at its best. You will see dolphins, maybe whales and, of course, flying fish.
While living ashore in Sydney you stay in our crew apartments at Queenscliff. They are simply furnished but well equipped – and just a few minutes walk from the surf beach at Manly.
Manly is Sydney’s premier beach resort, with great dining, entertainment and nightlife. What’s more it is only 15 minutes by high speed ferry to Circular Quay and all the attractions of central Sydney.
In the winter month of August, we sail north to the tropical Whitsunday Islands of Queensland for Hamilton Island Race Week.
Join us at the Flying Fish Sail Academy at Sydney for the adventure of a lifetime.
