Stitching the Void Installation

wo local artists, architect Patrick Keane (Bondi) and kite designer Michael Richards (from Kite Magic in Coogee), are currently exhibiting at Customs House, Circular Quay. The exhibition is a complex installation consisting of 84 red cubes, which have been suspended over five floors to fill the atrium of Customs House. Patrick said that the cubes are stitched together with enough carbon fibre to span one length of the Harbour Bridge! It’s on until February 24, with free entry.

T Hello Again G

aiety Theatre’s production of Hello Again, by the brilliantly

inventive Michael John LaChiusa, is a musical adaptation of La Ronde, the play by Arthur Schnitzler that incited riots with it’s frank depiction of sex and inspired The Blue Room by David Hare. Attempting to ease their loneliness, ten characters mistake sex for intimacy in various decades of the twentieth cen- tury. In a dizzying array of music from each era, the bruising effects of reck- less passion are chronicled in a daisy chain of sexual encounters. It’s playing at the Darlinghurst Theatre Company from Jan 30 to Feb 23 in participa- tion with the 2008 Mardi Gras Festival. Bookings at www.darlinghursttheatre. com or on 8356 9987.
