Members of the Monday Club enjoyed a trip to the West End recently. A


MONDAY CLUB SAYS THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC local charity that supports people with


learning difficulties made its latest trip to


the West End to see the ABBA inspired Mama Mia. The Monday Club, which has featured heavily


in My Abbots News due to its work within the community, supporting local people that suffer with conditions such as Down‟s syndrome. John Fisher, the founder of the club 23 years


ago, regularly organises events and days out with the group, along with the help of some much valued volunteers and around 45 members and helpers recently made the trip into London‟S West End to see the popular production of Mama Mia. Chairman John told My Abbots News: “We


have a lot of people in our group who love music and can relate to it. It is always a successful trip when we go into London, which is why we carry on.” Following on from My Abbots News’ report on


The Monday Club‟s outing to the Hollywood Bowl in Garston, we received an anonymous donation from one of our readers. In response, John said: “Myself and the


members of the committee would like to thank the person who sent the anonymous donation. It is a shame they did not provide their details


as I would really like to thank them personally.” The next event for members of The Monday


Club will be their Christmas disco, which takes place on December 6.
