Develop high skills pool through collaboration with stakeholders. Third level Institutions to champion innovation and entrepreneurship in the City.


Develop networks and strategic alliances to support and promote national and international R & D collaborations.


An ‘Enterprising Dublin’ fund will be established to encourage, support, generate and reward entrepreneurial activity in Dublin City. The fund to be managed under the auspices of the Lord Mayor. Financial and practical support for ‘Enterprising Dublin’ will be sought from the private sector, local authority, semi-state and public sector bodies. The fund will also work with existing organisations to promote corporate social and environmental responsibility of businesses.


The Enterprising Dublin fund will be developed using existing best practice models to:


Source soft and revolving loans for innovative micro-enterprise


entrepreneurial activity. Advice, guidance, mentoring and support structure for start- up projects.


Showcase nationally to promote entrepreneurial activity and internationally to market Dublin City as an International Centre of Innovation.

3.27 The plan presents a unique opportunity to rejuvenate one of Dublin’s most deprived areas. The plan provides for the following:

Demolition of all existing flats and buildings; A variety of new superior, centrally heated homes;


• Accommodation of all existing qualifying tenants on the site;


• Accommodation of all existing community facilities and services in new and improved buildings;


• A modern indoor sports facility; • New employment and enterprise opportunities, shops and local services; • • • •


3.28 The plan sets out the strategy to achieve this through the following chapters: •

Training, Education and Social Inclusion; and • Organisational Structures and Consultation Processes.


3.29 In this section we focus on the elements of the Plan that have a linkage with the Fatima Enterprise Strategy.
