Farm News Hope Phelon NEWCASTLE, WY

I am going to continue with dressage training but Shannon AF (*Shandor/Lil- lian) has been having a lot of fun learning to jump. Mallory MIgnot from Mears Mor- gans in Laramie WY got him started over fences last year. My friends and trainers from Rivervale Farms, Craig Heckert and Patty Larsen, in South Dakota, had him for a little over a month getting ready for Powder Basin (Gillette WY) this summer.

I was behind in my training due to some broken ribs this spring so Craig took him. It was so much fun being able to watch him go, he had never been on the cross country course and just trucked around like it was no big deal. He really seemed to enjoy himself. I’m heading to Worland next weekend for a lesson and to see if we might be ready for the Moonrock Event at the end of August. I also enjoyed sitting in for Kathy Richkind at the meeting last Thursday, I appreciate how much work you all put in to make NASS the successful and professional organization that it is.

Thanks, have fun with the ponies! Hope Phelon and Shannon AF make cross country look easy!
